Window Shopping - 2002 Oxford UK.
Taken while I was working at an independent photography shop on the High Street - Morris Photographic. The high street photography shop was still queen, people didn’t trust the new phenomenon of internet shopping. Each day I would notice people spending time staring at the cameras in the window, contemplating, debating, fantasising. They were beautifully lost in thought, a theme that has been a continuing interest in my work.
Part of my role at the shop was to display the second-hand cameras in the window. One day I loaded a film in a camera and attached a long shutter release. I spend the next hour snapping the people I saw.
